Want Wood-Fired Flavor and Gas Convenience in the Same Oven?

The WPPO Traditional 25" gives you both — no compromises, no second oven.

Most backyard cooks end up choosing between the smoky depth of wood fire and the push-button ease of gas. The WPPO Traditional 25" Dual Fuel Pizza Oven skips that argument entirely. Light a wood fire when you want that authentic char on your crust and a slow, smoke-kissed roast. Switch to the included gas attachment on a Tuesday night when you just want perfect pizza in under two minutes. The 1¼" fire brick floor holds heat the way a brick oven should, and WPPO's woven fiber fire blanket insulation keeps that heat exactly where you want it — in the oven, not the air around it. The built-in door thermometer takes the guesswork out of timing, and the mobile cart means your setup can move with you. Available in red or black powder coat.

WPPO Fire Blanket insulation wraps the 430 stainless steel interior to lock in cooking heat.

Deep Dive — Dual Fuel Design

Two Fuel Sources, One Oven

The Traditional 25" is built around a simple premise: different nights call for different approaches. When you have time and want that deep, smoky character that only wood fire delivers, you load the firebox and let it rip. When it's a Wednesday and you want pizza on the table in minutes, you connect the included gas attachment and dial in your temperature. Both fuel methods share the same 1¼" fire brick floor and WPPO woven fiber insulation — so the heat retention and cooking surface are consistent regardless of which fuel you choose.

The Fire Brick Floor

Fire brick isn't just decorative — it's functional heat storage. The 1¼" floor absorbs heat, distributes it evenly across the entire cooking surface, and radiates it back up into your food. That's what creates a blistered, leopard-spotted pizza crust instead of a pale or soggy one. It also means the oven recovers quickly between cooks, so you're not waiting around between pies.

Built to Read Its Own Temperature

The oven door includes a built-in thermometer, which is a small thing that makes a big difference. You always know where the oven is temperature-wise without lifting the door or guessing. The 15.75" W × 7.75" H door opening is sized for a proper 12-inch pizza peel to work comfortably.

Mobile Cart with Propane Tank Holder

The included mobile cart means the Traditional 25" isn't permanently committed to one spot on your patio. The integrated propane tank holder keeps your gas supply tucked neatly under the oven when you're cooking with gas. The powder coat exterior — available in red or black — is built for outdoor exposure.

Who It's For — The Deck & Den Take

If you've been going back and forth on whether to get a wood-fired oven or a gas oven, the Traditional 25" is genuinely the answer to that debate. The dual fuel setup isn't a gimmick — it's actually how most serious outdoor cooks end up using it. Wood on the weekend when you're entertaining and want the full experience. Gas on a weeknight when dinner needs to happen. The fire brick floor and insulation are legit, not afterthoughts, and the mobile cart is useful if your patio layout isn't fixed.

Who might want something else: if you're looking to cook for large groups regularly or want a built-in oven for a permanent outdoor kitchen island, the 25" interior isn't the biggest footprint. You'd want to look at a larger WPPO or a purpose-built built-in model. Also, if wood-fired flavor is the whole point for you and you'd never use gas, there are wood-only models at a lower price point.

One tip: the first two or three firings should be done at lower temperatures to cure the fire brick and insulation properly — don't skip that step. The manual covers it, and it protects the oven floor for the long term.

  • Backyard entertainers who want both wood and gas flexibility
  • Households that cook pizza or flatbreads regularly and want a dedicated outdoor oven
  • Cooks who want authentic wood-fired results without being locked out of quick-heat gas cooking
  • Patio setups where a mobile, freestanding oven makes more sense than a permanent build-in
  • Anyone who wants the built-in thermometer to take the guesswork out of temperature management
