The island package ships in NG and LP variants, which configures the RUBY3B gas grill for your chosen fuel. However, the SUNCHZ30 hybrid grill ships LP-configured in both variants. If you order the NG variant, you will need to convert the SUNCHZ30 from LP to natural gas using the process in the included Gas Conversion Guide, or by contacting Sunstone at 888-934-9449 for the NG conversion kit. Plan this before installation day — the SUNCHZ30's gas connection is on the right side of the grill and connects during the install sequence.

Per the spec sheets fetched directly from Sunstone's product documentation: the RUBY3B produces 45,000 BTUs across its three I-Burners. The SUNCHZ30 produces up to 45,000 BTUs. The SUN13VSB side burner produces up to 15,000 BTUs. Note that some product descriptions list 60,000 BTU for the RUBY3B — the 45,000 BTU figure is the number stated in the RUBY3B spec sheet and is used throughout this listing. Staff should verify the current spec sheet figure directly with Sunstone if the higher figure is expected before publishing.

Per the SUNCHZ30 spec sheet: stack charcoal briquettes or wood chunks in a pyramid on the charcoal grate inside the firebox. Open the bottom ash drawer and keep the hood open. Light the main gas burner (right knob) to ignite the charcoal, then shut off the gas once the charcoal is established. To use the back infrared burner for searing, light it separately using the left knob with hood open. The bottom ash collection drawer slides out for cleanup. If the burner does not light in 5 seconds, wait 5 minutes before retrying. Never close the hood and leave the grill unattended during operation.

Two outdoor GFCI outlets are required: one for the SAPFR21PRO refrigerator, and one inside the SAC34CGDC cabinet for the SUNCHZ30 light transformer (the transformer mounts to the inner cabinet wall and connects to the grill's left-side electrical port). The SUN13VSB side burner uses a knob-integrated ignition with no separate electrical connection required. Plan the location of both GFCI outlets before the island goes in and have a licensed electrician confirm they are properly rated and positioned.

Three separate gas connections are needed: one for the RUBY3B gas grill, one for the SUNCHZ30 hybrid grill, and one for the SUN13VSB side burner. All three gas connections should be made by a licensed tradesperson per local codes. Sunstone recommends an 18" hose from the gas supply to each grill so the grill can be pulled out for service if needed. For LP configurations, a dedicated LP flex hose and regulator are required for each appliance.

The SUNCHZ30 has specific clearances per its spec sheet: 24" minimum from any combustible material; 5 feet minimum from counter top to bottom edge of any overhead combustible structure; 8 feet minimum from floor to bottom edge of any overhead structure. The island structure must be non-combustible, or a Sunstone grill jacket must be used under all gas appliances. A minimum of two air vents are required in the island structure — high position for NG, low position for LP. For enclosed or covered installations, a vent hood above the grill is required. The grill must also have 6" of minimum clearance behind it for rear airflow. Never build any enclosure or shelf below the SUNCHZ30 — it must free-hang from the countertop only.

Assembly is rated as medium difficulty for the cabinet structure itself — all cabinets use Sunstone's snap-together pin-lock system without welding or masonry. Adjustable peg-legs level each module on uneven surfaces. The corner cabinet configuration adds one step compared to a straight run. Gas-line connections (three separate lines), sink plumbing, and GFCI electrical outlets should be handled by licensed tradespeople per local codes. Given the scale — 19 feet of island with two grills — budget at least a full day for cabinet assembly with multiple people on hand to stage and position the heavy modules.
