75,000 BTUs Across Five Burners, Plus an Industry-First Dual-Rotisserie Burner

The Sunstone Ruby Series RUBY5BIR is a 42-inch built-in grill sized to anchor a serious outdoor kitchen.

The Sunstone Ruby Series RUBY5BIR is a 42-inch built-in gas grill built entirely from 304 stainless steel, with 987 square inches of total cooking space across five main burners. A 15,000 BTU infrared rear burner powers an included rotisserie kit — and uniquely, it's built to run two rotisserie kits at once, a configuration most built-in grills don't support. Independent Flame-Thrower ignition, heat-changing LED control panel lighting, and interior halogen lights round out a grill built for large-scale entertaining.

RUBY5BIR Features & Benefits

Built for outdoor kitchens that need to feed a crowd, not just a family dinner.

75,000 BTU

Five Burners for High-Volume Cooking

Five 11-gauge fabricated I-burners deliver up to 75,000 BTUs combined, giving you the heat reserve to run five independent zones at once without losing temperature on a crowd-sized cookout.

Dual Rotisserie

An Industry-First Setup

The rear infrared burner is built to run two rotisserie kits side by side, not just one — a configuration most built-in grills don't support, useful if you regularly cook for a crowd.

15,000 BTU

Rotisserie Burner Included

A dedicated 15,000 BTU rear infrared burner and one rotisserie kit ship with the grill, so you can start slow-roasting right away; a second kit is available separately if you want to run two at once.

987 sq in

Built for a Crowd

770 square inches of primary grates plus 217 square inches of secondary warming space means you can cook a full spread for a large group without rotating food on and off the grates.

304 SS

Built for the Long Haul

Every panel, burner, and grate is built from 304 stainless steel, so the grill holds its finish through humid summers and salty coastal air instead of pitting after a season.

LED + Halogen

Built for Night Grilling

Heat-changing LED lighting on the control panel and halogen interior lights mean you can read doneness and dial in temperature long after the sun goes down.

What's Included in the Box

In the Box

  • Sunstone RUBY5BIR grill head (liquid propane or natural gas, per your fuel selection)
  • Rotisserie kit (motor, spit rod, and forks) — one included; a second is available separately for the dual-rotisserie position
  • Smoker box
  • Back hood wind guards
  • Spill-Away and Heat-Riser warming grids
  • Hose and regulator, pre-configured for your selected fuel type
  • Owner's manual
Deep Dive — Spill-Away, Heat-Riser & Install Details

Spill-Away and Heat-Riser Grids Keep Flare-Ups in Check

The angled Spill-Away warming grid channels grease and drippings toward the rear of the firebox instead of into the flame, while the Heat-Riser grid pushes extra heat toward the front for more even temperatures across the grates — fewer surprise flare-ups, more consistent cooks even at this larger scale.

Sized to Drop Into a 39 1/2" x 22" x 10" Cutout

The RUBY5BIR is built to drop into a 39 1/2-inch by 22-inch by 10-inch cutout, with an overall footprint of 42 inches wide by 27 inches deep by 22 inches tall. At 177 lb for the grill head alone, plan for extra hands or lift support during installation. Measure your island opening against these numbers before you order so the grill seats flush on install day.

Choose Your Fuel Type

The RUBY5BIR is available in liquid propane (RUBY5BIR-LP) or natural gas (RUBY5BIR-NG) configurations — select your fuel type above to match your existing gas line.

Who It's For — The Deck & Den Take
The Deck & Den Take — This is the grill for outdoor kitchens that need to feed a crowd, not just a family of four: five burners and nearly 1,000 square inches of cooking space mean you're not shuffling food on and off the grates mid-cookout. The dual-rotisserie capability is a genuine standout if you host larger events — most competitors cap you at one rotisserie position, this one supports two. If you're not sure you'll use the second position right away, you can always add the extra kit later since it's sold separately.
  • Outdoor kitchens hosting large groups or frequent events, where five burners and nearly 1,000 sq. in. of grate space genuinely matter.
  • Cooks who want dual-rotisserie capability to run two roasts or birds at the same time.
  • Anyone upgrading from a 30- or 36-inch grill who has outgrown the cooking surface.
  • Hosts who entertain after dark and want LED and halogen lighting built in, not bolted on.
  • Buyers planning a statement-piece centerpiece for a premium, large-format outdoor kitchen island.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the LP and NG versions?

RUBY5BIR-LP runs on liquid propane and RUBY5BIR-NG runs on natural gas. Both share the same burners, dimensions, and features — select the fuel type that matches your existing gas line.

How many BTUs does the RUBY5BIR put out?

The five main I-burners produce a combined 75,000 BTUs for direct grilling. A separate 15,000 BTU rear infrared burner powers the rotisserie system independently.

Can I really run two rotisserie kits at once?

Yes — the rear infrared burner is built to accommodate two rotisserie rods at the same time, a configuration most built-in grills don't support. One kit ships with the grill; a second is available separately.

Is the rotisserie kit included?

Yes — one rotisserie kit (motor, spit rod, and forks) is included with the grill. A second kit can be purchased separately if you want to use both rotisserie positions at once.

What cutout size do I need for installation?

The grill requires a 39 1/2 in. wide by 22 in. deep by 10 in. tall cutout. Confirm your island's opening against these dimensions before ordering.

What's included in the box?

The grill ships with a rotisserie kit, a smoker box, back hood wind guards, Spill-Away and Heat-Riser warming grids, a hose and regulator pre-configured for your selected fuel type, and the owner's manual.

What's covered under warranty?

Sunstone covers the stainless steel burners, cooking grids, and housings for the lifetime of the original purchaser, and other components such as ignitors, knobs, valves, and tubing for one year. Full terms are in the product manual above.

How much does the grill weigh?

The grill head weighs 177 lb on its own — useful to know when planning crane support or lift assistance for your island build.

How is each burner lit?

Each burner has its own independent Flame-Thrower ignition, so lighting one zone doesn't depend on the others working.

How does this compare to the RUBY4BIR?

The RUBY5BIR adds a fifth main burner and about 150 additional square inches of total cooking space (987 sq. in. versus 837 sq. in.), in a 42-inch footprint instead of 36 inches. It also adds the dual-rotisserie capability, which the RUBY4BIR's infrared burner doesn't support.

What if it doesn't fit my island?

If the unit doesn't fit your cutout or isn't right for your setup, it's covered by Deck & Den's 45-day return policy — just contact us before sending it back.
