36,000 BTU
Instant, Even Searing Heat
Two 18,000 BTU 304 stainless U-tube burners snap to temperature fast and hold it steady across the full cooking surface — no hot-and-cold patches, no waiting around for the grates to catch up.
13,000 BTU
Infrared Rear Burner for Rotisserie
The angled infrared rear burner bathes the included 40 lb-capacity rotisserie spit in radiant heat from behind, basting poultry, prime rib, and porchetta in their own juices for results you usually only get at a steakhouse.
512 in²
Primary Cooking Surface That Feeds a Crowd
8mm square stainless rod grates over 512 square inches of primary surface give you maximum contact for deep sear marks and enough room to run two cooking zones at the same time without juggling pans.
5-in-1
Complete Cooking Versatility Out of the Box
Grill, rotisserie, griddle, smoke, and slow-cook — all with the accessories already in the box. The drop-in griddle plate, smoker box, rib rack, and rotisserie kit mean you're not budgeting for extras before your first cook.
304 SS
Built for Outdoor Life — and Coastal Climates
Seam-welded 304 stainless construction throughout — firebox, hood, handle, grates, and burners — resists corrosion, coastal salt air, and the daily grind of outdoor cooking without the surface rust that plagues lesser grills.
LED + Halogen
Grill Confidently After Dark
A waterfall LED strip across the control panel glows white on standby and shifts to red when a burner ignites — so you know what's live at a glance. Halogen interior lights illuminate the entire cooking surface for precise control at any hour.

Deep Dive — Briquette System, Hood & Safety Features►
Ceramic Briquette System — Even Heat, Better Flavor, Easier Cleanup
Under the grates, ceramic briquette trays sit between the burners and the food. They vaporize drippings on contact — adding the kind of smoky char you expect from a charcoal grill without the hassle — and spread radiant heat across the entire cooking surface so edges cook as consistently as the center. When the session is over, the trays slide out for a quick clean instead of a scrub-down of the burner tubes.
16-Inch Hood Clearance — Room for Whole Birds, Big Roasts, and the Rotisserie Spit
The double-lined, 18-gauge spring-assisted hood opens to 16 inches of clearance, so a whole turkey or a standing rib roast fits with room to rotate on the spit. The double-wall construction prevents heat discoloration on the exterior and holds hood temperatures steady for more predictable convection cooking. The analog thermometer in the lid gives you a read without opening the hood and losing heat.
Safety Features Built into Every Session
The rear burner flame-out system automatically cuts gas supply if the infrared burner loses its flame — no manual monitoring required. The electronic Flame Thrower ignition with flash tubes gives you a reliable spark every time. The removable drip tray is dishwasher-safe, which means grease management stays a 30-second job, not a reason to avoid cooking.
Who It's For — The Deck & Den Take►
The Deck & Den Take — The Quest 30 is the grill we recommend when someone wants a true outdoor kitchen anchor but is working with a compact island or a 30-inch cutout. The accessory package is what separates it from grills at similar price points — the griddle, smoker box, rib rack, and rotisserie kit together would cost you several hundred dollars if bought separately, and here they come standard. If you're building your first island or upgrading from a store-brand freestanding grill, this is a meaningful step up that you'll notice on the very first cook.
-
Outdoor kitchen builders working with a 30-inch cutout — the Quest 30 maximizes every square inch of a compact or mid-size island without sacrificing BTUs or cooking versatility.
-
Grillers who want multiple cooking methods without extra purchases — the included griddle, rotisserie, smoker box, and rib rack mean you can go from Saturday steaks to Sunday brunch without buying another piece of equipment.
-
Weekend hosts and entertaining enthusiasts — 512 square inches of primary surface plus two warming racks keeps a full menu moving, and the rotisserie handles whole proteins for larger groups.
-
Homeowners in coastal or high-humidity climates — full 304 stainless construction throughout resists corrosion where lesser materials fail within a few seasons.
-
Anyone upgrading from a big-box freestanding grill — the step up in build quality, heat output, accessories, and lighting is immediately noticeable, especially once you've cooked on the infrared rotisserie for the first time.
-
Evening and year-round grillers — the waterfall LED panel, red-alert bezel indicators, and halogen interior lights make grilling after dark as practical as cooking at noon.

Manuals & Documents►
Frequently Asked Questions►
What are the exact cutout dimensions for the Quest 30-Inch?►
The cutout opening required is 28½" wide × 19¾" deep × 10¼" high. Download the Cut-Out Sheet and Line Drawing above for contractor-ready reference. If you're working with a combustible-material island (wood framing, etc.), the Summerset insulating grill liner (GL-QST30) is required and sold separately.
How many BTUs does the Quest 30 produce in total?►
The two main U-tube burners produce 36,000 BTU combined (18,000 BTU each). The angled infrared rear burner adds 13,000 BTU when used for rotisserie cooking, for a combined system total of 49,000 BTU. The main burners and rear burner are independently controlled, so you can use them together or separately.
Is the rotisserie kit included, and what is the motor's weight capacity?►
Yes — the rotisserie kit is included in the box at no extra cost. The motor is rated for up to 40 lbs, which is enough for a whole turkey, a large roast chicken, prime rib, or a leg of lamb.
What accessories come in the box?►
The Quest 30 includes: rotisserie kit (motor + spit, 40 lb capacity), drop-in stainless steel griddle plate, stainless steel rib rack, smoker box, and a grill cover. Two multi-position warming racks are built into the grill. The only significant items sold separately are the freestanding cart (CART-QST30-DC) and the insulating grill liner for combustible island builds (GL-QST30).
Can the Quest 30 be used freestanding instead of built-in?►
Yes. The grill head can be paired with the Summerset Deluxe Cart for 30-Inch Quest (CART-QST30-DC), which features folding side shelves, front-locking caster wheels, two storage drawers, a propane tank access door, and ventilation. The cart is sold separately.
Is a grill liner required for built-in installation?►
If your outdoor island is constructed from combustible materials — such as wood framing or plastic composites — yes, the Summerset insulating grill liner (GL-QST30) is required by the manufacturer. It provides double-wall insulation to protect surrounding framing from heat. Islands built from non-combustible materials such as steel studs or concrete block with proper clearances may not require it — consult the installation manual and your local codes to confirm.
What clearances are required inside a built-in island?►
The grill requires a minimum of 14 inches of clearance on the right, left, and rear from protected combustible walls (4 inches of non-combustible material plus an additional 10 inches to the combustible surface). The island must also include ventilation: at minimum a 4-inch vent opening at the top and one at the bottom to allow free air flow and keep the enclosure cool. Always follow local codes and the full installation requirements in the user manual.
What fuel types are available and can I convert between them?►
The Quest 30 is available in Natural Gas (QST30-NG) and Liquid Propane (QST30-LP). Select your fuel type above before adding to cart. Fuel conversion between NG and LP may require a manufacturer-supplied conversion kit and professional installation — contact us before attempting a conversion.
What is Summerset's warranty on the Quest 30?►
Summerset covers the Quest 30 with their Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty for construction, cooking grates, burners, burner covers, valves, heat zone separators, ceramic briquette systems, and temperature gauges — for the life of the original owner. Electrical components and all other parts carry a 3-year warranty. Labor is excluded. Warranty must be registered online within 30 days of purchase and applies to the original purchaser at the original delivery site.
Does the warranty cover coastal or high-humidity environments?►
Summerset's warranty does not cover discoloration, surface rust, corrosion, or oxidation resulting from harsh environments, chemicals, or overheating — and coastal, humid, and salt environments are subject to manufacturer review. Proper maintenance, regular cleaning, and use of a grill cover are essential for long-term performance in coastal climates.
How do the bezel lights work and what do they indicate?►
Each control knob has a bezel indicator light. When a burner is off, the bezel glows white. When a burner is ignited and on, the bezel shifts to red — giving you an immediate visual confirmation of which burners are active without leaning over the grill. The waterfall LED strip runs along the front face of the control panel and stays on for ambient illumination after dark.
What is the cooking grid dimension and how does it compare to larger Quest models?►
The Quest 30 cooking grid measures 26¼" wide by 19½" deep, covering 512 square inches of primary surface. If you need more real estate, the Quest Series is also available in 36-inch and 42-inch configurations — both with the same feature set and accessory suite. See the other Quest models linked above or contact us for a comparison.
How do the ceramic briquettes improve cooking?►
The ceramic briquette trays sit between the burners and the grates. They absorb and radiate heat evenly across the full cooking surface, reducing cold spots and improving heat consistency from edge to edge. They also vaporize grease drippings on contact, producing smoke that adds flavor — similar to what you get from charcoal grilling. When the cook is done, the trays are easy to remove and clean.
Is the drip tray dishwasher-safe?►
Yes. The grease drip tray is removable and dishwasher-safe, making post-cook cleanup straightforward.
Does the Quest 30 come with a grill cover?►
Yes — a grill cover is included in the box. Using the cover consistently is especially important in coastal, humid, or high-UV environments to extend the finish life of the stainless steel.
What Deck & Den shipping and return policies apply to this grill?►
Is the Quest 30 made in the USA?►
Yes. The Summerset Quest 30-Inch is manufactured in the USA, which is part of what underpins the Gold Standard Lifetime Warranty and the 304 stainless build quality throughout.
