The Big Texan With Lid pairs three independently controlled 9,000 BTU U-shaped burners — 27,000 BTUs combined — with a 1/2-inch enameled cast-iron sub-plate under a 650 in² cooking surface, so three different heat levels run at once instead of crowding onto one zone. It ships with the fitted GFLID105 stainless steel lid included, handle and hardware and all, protecting the surface between cooks and helping hold heat while you're cooking. Built from 304 stainless steel and factory-ready for either a built-in cutout or countertop setup, it ships propane-ready with a natural gas conversion kit and opposite orifices included, so matching your outdoor kitchen's fuel line doesn't cost extra. Battery-powered push-button ignition lights each burner fast, and three thermocouple safety valves shut the gas off automatically if a flame goes out on any zone.

A Lid Sized for a Griddle This Big
Each of the Big Texan's three 9,000 BTU U-shaped burners has its own control knob, so you can hold one zone low while the other two run hot enough for a proper sear, all across the same 650 in² surface. The fitted GFLID105 lid closes down over the whole thing with its handle and mounting hardware already in place, protecting the cooking surface between cooks and helping retain heat while you're using it — just plan for 25 inches of depth clearance in front of the griddle for the lid to open fully without hitting anything.
Who It's For — The Deck & Den Take▶
The Deck & Den Take — Get this version instead of the base GFE105 if you don't want to shop for a lid separately — this one ships complete, handle and hardware included, and it's genuinely nice to have weather protection built in for a griddle this size. Two things to plan around before you order: at 120 lb plus the lid, this is not a two-person carry, and you'll need 25 inches of depth clearance in front of the cabinet for the lid to swing fully open — measure your outdoor kitchen layout before committing to placement. If you're cooking for a smaller household or tighter space, the Ranch Hand or Wee give you the same Dual Plate System without the size or the clearance requirement.
